No Christianity without the Bible

Scripture reading does not necessarily lead to Jesus Christ. Some have no ears to listen. Some people say that if you have read the Bible, you are a Christian afterwards. They forget that the Bible is much more than just a book that contains knowledge. It is God's Word! It is living, and still speaking, and cannot be shut up if GOD has to tell us something. It is simply not up to me to "handle" it somehow and put it away onto the attic after reading it. I can do that, but if I think I could live a Christian life without it, I err. You will not manage to live according to GOD's standards but will live according to your own. I also believe that someone whom God touched with it would never want to miss it, because He can hear the shepherd speaking to him personally. Without hearing the shepherd speaking and calling, the sheep will soon lose its way, and probably fall among the wolves if not found before that time.
Please do not believe anyone who tells you he has all the wisdom but dos not need God's Word anymore. Such a one is a deceiver who has put himself up as Christ. That is what the devil did in the beginning, namely putting himself above God, and it did not do him much good.
Even lot of pastors today think they could do without God's Word, and concentrate on literature that other unbelievers wrote. Such a kind of church theology is bad, because it does not have it's root in God's Word but what so many other said.
Prayer is a good idea. Prayer, if answered by God, will always take you back to the standards in the Bible. If that is not the case, check your standards. You will always find what He tells you confirmed in the Bible. Whenever this fails and there is no such confirmation, make sure that what you think is really from Him. If it is struggling with what God's Word tells you, better do not listen to what you "think". We humans are no gods and make mistakes until He will come back in the clouds and make us perfect beings in which the flesh does not reign anymore at all.
If you agree that the Bible is really God's Word, you can see what I mean, because would God lie, or err? It is either not God's Word, or it is all true, and if true, whatever else you hear must be wrong, right?

I simply cannot get enough of this Song...

Instrumental Version...

God - Caught in the Act!

The Holy Bible - King James Version - Colossians - Ch. 1

Colossians 1:1-29 KJV
(1) Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
(2) To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
(3) We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
(4) Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
(5) For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
(6) Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
(7) As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;
(8) Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
(9) For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
(10) That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
(11) Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
(12) Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
(13) Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
(14) In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
(15) Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
(16) For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
(17) And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
(18) And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
(19) For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
(20) And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
(21) And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
(22) In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
(23) If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
(24) Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
(25) Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
(26) Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
(27) To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
(28) Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
(29) Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

If you come here to seek peace and fellowship, you'd better try a dachshund club!
If there are Christians who stand for a sound Christian doctrine and attract many Christians and seekers alike for peaceful conversations and Christian fellowship, you can bet that the devil is not far and will do his best to ruin what others have established. Not many will stay to defend the sound doctrine based on the ground of Christian teaching found in the Bible, which the church fathers formulated in the Apostolic Creed (you can find this on the first page of as well with this article in an edited form) or the Creed of Nicaea, for example. They simply cannot stand the insults, attacks and false accusations of being cultists or evil for trying to live according to God's will anymore, but God's Word teaches we are to stand it till the end...
If you want to learn something about Christianity, please make sure not to listen to the real cultists or the hypocrites who sold their faith for 30 silver dollars or for being liked by the world by holding liberal views and their false ideas of "tolerance", or a different kind of false teaching. Tolerance does not mean to accept anything as Christian, but a Christian understands that God is no respecter of persons and loves women as much as men, blacks as much as whites. There is no question about the color, gender, race, nationality or the like at all.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28 KJV)
But God is a jealous God, and He does not tolerate any idol worshipping.
For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God. (Deuteronomy 4:24 KJV)

Internet and usenet are places where a lot of Spiritual battles are fought, and the enemy has found out that he cannot win, for God is stronger than he. Coming here will not be peaceful. Christians must reckon with persecution, or they should try to find out what is wrong with them... Are they just posting things that people want to hear? Are they ducking down behind copy and paste stuff that others wrote for them? Or are they just hypocrites or even cultists?
The best recommendation is to be protected against such people by reading and studying the Bible yourself. Pray to God before that and have Him explain it to you. You might be surprised how thrilling *His* interpretation might be! If you are a Christian, make sure that you wear the full of Ephesians 6:

"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints" (Ephesians 6:11-18 KJV)

If you want to have peace and fellowship, try a sports club, or, as suggested above, a rabbit breeders club. Collect stamps and share that hobby somewhere. But do not come here to the frontier! There is this old war between the Heavenly Powers and the dark armies of Satan raging, the war that is described in the Bible (see above), the war that will ONLY be over when Jesus comes back for a second time to gather His Saints in the sky, after which these heavens and the earth will melt away in the fire that will destroy them, so Jesus can build them anew, together with all the things.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. (2 Peter 3:10 KJV)

Until then Christians will have to suffer persecution, so all the libel, fase accusations, threats and attacks you can see here in the internet, in usenet or elsewhere have their reason in the fact that Christians still have to fight for a sound Christian doctrine to be preserved until that day.

However, there is a Heavenly peace that everybody can have if he accepts Jesus as His Savior...It is a peace you have within and that comes right away from God. It is the knowledge that He forgave you your sins, because Jesus cleansed you by His precious blood.

 An Improvisation by Vera Six
It happened, that when he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them. Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished out of their sight.
They said one to another, "Weren't our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?"
They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them, saying, "The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!" They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, "Peace be to you." But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
He said to them, "Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?  See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn't have flesh and bones, as you see that I have."

The 'Illuminated' Bible! - From Spurgeon's, "The Holy Ghost- the Great Teacher"

Do any of you have an 'illuminated' Bible at home?

"No," says one, "I have a morocco Bible; I have a
Polyglot Bible; I have a marginal reference Bible."
Ah! that is all very well, but have you an illuminated Bible?
"Yes, I have a large family Bible with pictures in it."
There is a picture of John the Baptist baptizing Christ by
pouring water on his head, and many other nonsensical things;
but that is not what I mean: have you an illuminated Bible?
"Yes, I have a Bible with splendid engravings in it."
Yes; I know you may have; but have you an illuminated Bible?
"I don't understand what you mean by an illuminated Bible."

Well, it is the Christian man who has an illuminated Bible.
He does not buy it illuminated originally, but when he reads it
"A glory gilds the sacred page,
Majestic like the sun
Which gives a light to every page,
-It gives, but burrows none."

There is nothing like reading an illuminated Bible, beloved.

You may read the Bible to all eternity, and never learn
anything by it, unless it is illuminated by the Spirit;
and then the words shine forth like stars!

The book seems made of gold leaf; every single
letter glitters like a diamond.

Oh, it is a blessed thing to read an illuminated Bible
lit up by the radiance of the Holy Spirit!

The Bible is God's Word

Hi Readers,
Do you believe that the Bible is God's inerrant Word?

If not, you may not have had such an impressive experience that I had years ago.
I thought that the Bible was an obsolete and useless book, good enough to impress stupid people, and good enough to be abused by others. When I met a Christian in the internet, I decided to buy such a book to prove this person wrong. But then it happened that God struck me, and He told me right into my heart that it was all true... I could also feel how much God was longing for me - yes, I could really feel a burning in my heart that has never really left me since then. From that time on I could not get enough of God and His Word anymore. Yet it took many more months until I surrendered my life to Him to follow my Lord and my God from that day on when my real life started. I have never regretted to become a follower of Christ, I only regret not to have let God enter my life earlier, and I can only recommend to you to follow Him when you feel your heart is burning and you feel how God is asking you to come closer...
Just believe it - God is real - He is the Living God - His love is real.
Trust Him - give Him a chance, and be sure that He loves you.
