Ideas that turn up when reading through the Book of Daniel in the Bible...

Reading through the Book of Daniel, it gets pretty obvious that even if we are God's beloved children, and even if a person is a man of God's own heart, He does not always answer all of our prayers the way we would expect it from Him, because He might have other plans for us. For Daniel, this meant to have to live far away from his home, family and friends after he was deported to Babylonia, probably at the age of 15 for the rest of his life. I do not think that this was what he had asked from God in his youth or afterwards, and I cannot imagine how often he might have prayed to God to allow him to go home to his family, but his dreams just did not come true. He simply had no choice but to live where he was sent and make the best of it.

How often do we not understand that things do not happen the way we desire them to happen? How often do we think God does not love us? How often do we pray and pray and pray that the Lord may give us direction and tell us what to do or where to go, while he just does not seem to want to answer us, because He has actually placed us into the situation after His plans? Should we not just let God do what He thinks is best, and lead our paths? So let us make the best of any situation into which He might send us. And whatever happens, never forget who you are and what your job is: a Christian growing on his way, winning souls for eternity in Heaven. Patience and is a gift that make a Christian, and the hope that God will fulfil his plans and promises, so everything will turn out fine for us and everyone who belongs to Him.

Psalms 30:2-5

O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave:
thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his,
and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
For his anger endureth but a moment;
in his favour is life:
weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Shocking Message - Paul Washer

Shocking Message - Paul Washer - Deutsch from Unwise Sheep on Vimeo.

Paul Washer Quote

"Ich glaube, dass der Begriff "Missionen" seine Bedeutung verloren hat. Dass wir zu Strategen und Missiologen geworden sind und dass wir vor allen Dingen vergessen haben, dass wir Theologen und Propheten sind. Und dass das Erfüllen von Missionen nicht unsere Aufgabe ist. Unsere Aufgabe ist es, Gottes Wahrheit, die in Gottes Wort offenbart wird, in die Welt zu bringen." ~Paul Washer

"I feel that ‘missions’ has lost its message. That we’ve become strategist and missiologist and we have forgotten that, first and foremost, we are theologians and prophets. And that our tasks are not to do missions. Our task is to take the truth−God’s truth revealed in God’s word, to the world." ~Paul Washer
